Each person's skin is uniquely different and the stain of the henna depends on your body chemistry, body heat and stress levels
Henna appears best on warmer, more porous parts of the body like, hands and feet.
On skin of color it may take up to two or three days for the henna to appear
Allow the paste to remain on the skin for as long as possible (six hours) The henna must have time to oxidize
A lemon and sugar elixir is dabbed on top of the henna design. This enforces the stain quality and acts as a sealant to keep the paste from crumbling off the skin
To help deepen the stain heat is applied to the design with a candle
Once it has cured, you may scrape off the dry henna paste.
Use olive oil to loosen the henna paste. The henna design may not be very dark or evident at this stage This is the "ghost stage". It shall deepen in color within 12 to 24 hours
Avoid using soaps, and lotions where the henna was applied. Keep in mind that the henna stain is on the surface layers of your skin and all of these substances help to remove your design
Following these few limitations you should sustain darker, longer-lasting stains
